A re-styled Hyundai Tiburon is one of three vehicles Hyundai Motor Company introduced at the 2007 Paris Autoshow. Rolling out with the popular Tiburon were a diesel-powered Azera and the Arneis concept vehicle.
The Tiburon Coupe has accounted for over 221,000 units sold by Hyundai since its introduction and this second generation model will attempt to keep Hyundai well positioned in the growing sport coupe market.
The Azera is sold in Europe under the model name Grandeur. Installation of the new 2.2 CRDi diesel engine, is designed to maintain competition with other near-luxury models in the European market. The common rail direct injection diesel engine produces 110kW @ 4000rpm and 340Nm torque @ 2000 rpm. It also features inter-cooled turbo technology and offers a Euro 4 compliant particle filter.
The Arneis concept vehicle was showcased as a closely related example of an upcoming model codenamed the FD. This vehicle was apparently developed by Hyundai’s design team in Russelheim, Germany. The FD is slated for a European launch next Spring.
