Adding to its rather extreme Apollo model, the German automaker Gumpert revealed only its second even model, the Tornante at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.
Built in Altenburg, Germany, the Tornante is powered by a highly reworked and twin turbocharged Audi 4.2L V8 mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The resulting 700HP shuttled to the rear wheels only, should thrust the Tornante along quite nicely.
Styled by the Italian based Touring Superleggera, the Tornante has a more subdued appearance the the aforementioned Apollo. According to Gumpert reps, the performance will also be toned down in the Tornante with a bias towards a more comfortable driving experience. Expect deliveries in 2012 and so far no one has mentioned a price, but you know the old saying. If you have to ask…
