2008 Chevy Malibu named North American Car of the Year

At the opening of the 2008 North American International Auto show, tradition dictates that the annual Car of the Year and Truck of the Year are announced in Detroit.

This year the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu bested the other finalists, Cadillac CTS and Honda Accord.
In a somewhat surprising finish the Malibu’s runner up was the highly touted Cadillac CTS and in third place its chief competitor the Accord.

Built on the GM Epsilon platform shared with the Saturn Aura and the Saab 9-3, its hardly surprising the car ended up in the finals and was certainly deserving of the award.
